Sweden’s Picturesque City Trosa, A Must to Visit!

I have visited Swedens perhaps most idyllic summer town, Trosa and Trosa Municipality. My god what a cute little town Trosa is, only 55 minutes by car from Stockholm City. Perfect for an excursion day or why not stay at Trosa Stadshotell & Spa as I did for a romantic weekend or buy their golf package 🙂

Oh my god, what a charming and idyllic town Trosa is. It was the first time I visited Trosa in early June 2020 and will definitely go back here because it was so cozy, if nothing else for just a lunch in Trosa boat harbor, yes it was so cozy that I can imagine going all the way here just for a lunch, that says a lot about the town! 😉

Trosa is an archipelago town close to water and fishing, kayaking, swimming and boat trips. Many people choose to get married here in Trosa church and then take a boat along the canal. Trosa is also close to nature and the Sörmland Trail.

We started from Trosa city hotel and went down to the river and across the bridge towards Trosa City Hall. Here is a small cute square with a bank, bookstore and some clothing stores. Then we went down towards Trosa stadshotell’s café, which is right next to the river on one side and continued walking along the river all the way towards Boman’s hotel and Trosa Boat Harbor.

Here along the river there are many ancient villas and detached houses and one of the houses really looked like Pippi Longstock’s house.

This I thought looked like Pippi Longstocking’s house, don’t you think so too? 🙂

Here is also Boman’s hotel which I would really like to stay at some time, what a dream! Their decor is special but so cool! Really my style 😉

There were a lot of restaurants and cafes along the river and in the marina for lunch, dinner and coffee. Yes as I said, here you really need a weekend to try out several different restaurants that I was craving for, among other things Ågården looked really nice and also have a lobster evening on midsummer evening! 🙂

  1. Var där för något år sedan, åkte till en fin strand precis där också ute på någon ö och förbi Tullgarns slott på hemvägen.
